2016 Ontario Dairy Farm Accounting ProjectAnnual Report

The Ontario Dairy Farm Accounting Project (ODFAP) is a co-operative project of Dairy Farmers of Ontario, the Canadian Dairy Commission (and Agriculture Canada) and the University of Guelph.

ODFAP develops and maintains a regular, representative and consistent farm production and management data whichmeets the farm data base requirements of the Ontario dairy industry for policy, research and extensionpurposes. This is done by maintaining a sample of farms which represents typical Ontario dairy farm situations and different levels of technology, regional differences and other significant factors.

Animal Care and Welfare

Dairy Farmers of Ontario is the legislated authority to license all dairy farmers in the province of Ontario to produce and market milk.

DFO is governed by a Board of Directors who are licensed dairy farmers elected by licensed dairy farmers.

DFO requires that all dairy farmers ship safe, high quality milk from healthy cows and suitable farm premises. Farms that meet this standard are classified as Grade A.
