"Savour Ontario at Home" campaign: Delicious recipes delivered to Ontarians

July 25, 2020

Dairy Farmers of Ontario’s (DFO) new culinary brand Savour Ontario has pivoted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with DFO’s other marketing campaigns and strategies. The new campaign, “Savour Ontario at Home,” began in mid-April shortly after everyday life changed for Canadians.

Over the past three months, the new campaign included social media, website posts and recipes—content that was all about home cooking and baking with dairy. The “Savour Ontario at Home” campaign brought professional skills to the home kitchen, teaching people the basics can be anything but basic. The campaign featured recipes created by local, well-know and well-loved chefs and tastemakers.

“Savour Ontario at Home” wrapped up in July with the release of its digital recipe collection, which has more than 60 recipes including dairy ingredients, from Ontario culinary professionals. The recipe collection was emailed to more than 24,000 consumers who signed up for home culinary content during the pandemic.

Support local Ontario businesses

Another facet to the “Savour Ontario at Home” campaign, which is integral to the Savour Ontario brand, is the notion of eating local and supporting local Canadian businesses. Part of the campaign was about bringing awareness to the impact of COVID-19 on the restaurant industry and encouraging consumers to support local businesses wherever possible. Consumers and industry members can get involved and make a difference in their communities during this time. Visit the below sites for ways to support local:

•, a campaign encouraging Canadians across the country to order takeout every Wednesday to support small businesses during COVID-19
  • to stand united with all local businesses and help them reopen
  • to learn about the coalition of Canadian restauranteurs and suppliers
  • #OneTable to send a letter in support of the Canadian restaurant industry

Look out for DFO's official launch of the Savour Ontario brand in the fall, which will include a new website featuring more recipes and culinary articles.
