DFO launches new consumer website

MISSISSAUGA, Ont.— Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) has officially launched its new consumer website, accessible at www.milk.org.

The redesigned website is user and mobile friendly and was specifically designed with consumer needs, browsing habits and interests in mind. It also provides an easy-to-navigate user experience, as well as improved graphics and website functionality.

“Dairy Farmers of Ontario is proud to launch its new website to passionate, enthusiastic dairy supporters and consumers in Canada,” says Sean Bredt, DFO’s chief marketing and business development officer. “The website unites DFO’s consumer program pages into one place that’s easy to navigate and explore. Visitors will be able to find what they’re searching for—such as recipes, the popular Milk Calendar and program information—as well as learn new facts about the industry and discover entirely new aspects of dairy.”

Visitors can now easily browse industry information organized into different sections in the navigation ribbon at the top, including:

  • Our milk: facts about dairy products, nutritional benefits, the farm-to-table dairy process, and sustainability and animal care;
  • Culinary: dairy recipes, articles highlighting local restaurants and the Milk Calendar;
  • About us: the history and legacy of Ontario dairy farmers with farmer profiles, DFO’s role as a marketing board and a dedicated media page with press releases;
  • Programs: food brand partnerships, as well as educational and sports programs, including DFO’s Dairy Education program and MilkUP, its pro and amateur sports sponsorship program.

Other website functionality that is designed to enhance the user experience include:

  • Link hover animations: when users hover over links with their cursor, including linked images, micro-animations make them stand out, encouraging more clicking and interaction;
  • Image carousels with sliders: users can choose how they browse photos by dragging a slider button on image carousels;
  • Video players: collections of videos are displayed together in a media player with animated preview thumbnails to engage users;
  • Milk Calendar page with sign-up form: users can submit their information in an integrated form to receive a free copy of DFO’s 2020 Milk Calendar.

With the launch of the new website, DFO invites consumers to get inspired and excited by dairy. The new design and content fully align with DFO’s brand and marketing campaigns released earlier this year, which include the Dairy Done Right masterbrand message and What Can’t Milk Do? tagline. These campaigns not only show milk’s versatility, relevance and usefulness in consumers’ lives in various areas, the new website now fully supports and complements those brands with rich and engaging content.

Visitors to the new site looking for corporate information can still access DFO’s industry website by clicking on “DFOWeb Login” at the top right-hand corner of the consumer landing page.
