Milk
Helps Students Thrive
Milk
has the nutritional balance kids need to thrive physically and achieve
academic success.
Ensuring that they receive the recommended number of daily servings
will help them perform at their best. Canada’s Food Guide
recommends 2 daily servings of “Milk and Alternatives”
(such as
cheese and yogourt) for children aged 4 to 8 and 3-4 daily servings
for youth aged 9 to 13.
However, “more than one-third of children aged 4 to 9 do not
have the recommended number of servings of milk and alternatives
a day. By ages 10 to 16, about 61% of boys and 83% of girls did
not meet their recommended daily minimum”.*
