LEADERS IN AGRICULTURAL AWARENESS AND DAIRY FARMING.

When it comes to the Sayles family, two things are certain: the family member’s commitment to dairy farming and the Paris Fair. Dairy has led them to leadership roles at the fair where they’ve been promoting agricultural awareness for 100 years.

In the 1920s, Theodore Sayles started the family tradition of going to the annual Paris Fair. His son, Brian and Brian’s wife Donna, became heavily involved in the fair, with Donna becoming the president of the homecraft division in 1997. The next generation swept in the love of the fair as well, with son Bruce still volunteering at the Paris Fair 30 years later.

Growing up on the farm, inspired his daughter, Erica to pursue a Bachelor of Agriculture at Guelph, majoring in Animal Science. She has been on the Board of Directors since 2015. Erica has already made big achievements in the industry and will continue to keep doing dairy right in Paris to support her community.

“There are so many opportunities for young people in the dairy industry.”
