TV news segments featuring dairy farmers

Three television news segments featuring Ontario dairy farmers were aired on Global News and CP24 Breakfast as part of Dairy Farmers of Ontario’s (DFO) new marketing campaign.

Launched on April 22, the eight-week campaign includes commercials on TV (click here to watch) and radio, billboard and outdoor signage, as well as ads in theatres, online and on social media.


Two Global News video segments aired on May 28 and May 29. The first features Murray Sherk, DFO board chair and interim general manager, on his farm. Sherk gives an overview of the industry and a tour of his farm, and shows how he and his daughter work together in the barn. The video clip can be viewed here.

The second Global News video segment features Julie Eby and her three young daughters on their notably female-run farm. Eby explains her unique experience running her farm, her fifth-generation farming history and passion for dairy farming. The video clip can be viewed here.

The CP24 Breakfast segment aired on April 26, featuring John and Heather Werry's farm. In giving a tour of their barn and showing off their cows, the eighth-generation Werry family demonstrated the care they put into working on their farm, and their pride in producing local Ontario dairy. Another TV news segment will run for the tail end of the campaign in June. Stay tuned for more details.
