IAN HARROP

IAN HARROP Ian Harrop, a dairy farmer from Fergus, Ontario, was elected to the Board of Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) in 2006. He represents milk producers in the counties of Dufferin, Peel, Simcoe, and Wellington.  He previously served on the Wellington Dairy Producer Committee.

Mr. Harrop serves on the Audit & Planning Committee, the Communications and Government Relations Committee, and the Governance Committee; as well as the DFO Advisory Committee for Milk. He is also the DFO representative for BalanceCo, and a representative for proAction. Mr. Harrop also serves on the Board of Directors for Dairy Farmers of Canada.

Mr. Harrop and his wife, Janet, share ownership of Harrcroft Acres in Fergus with Mr. Harrop’s brother, Roger, and his wife, Susan. They milk a herd of 105 purebred Holsteins on the 700-acre farm where they grow corn, wheat, soybeans, and hay for their cows’ feed. Mr. Harrop and his wife also run a 100-head commercial sheep operation.  Mr. Harrop and his wife have two children, Ashley and Ryan.
